Scrapbook How To: Use Your Paper Scraps on Your Scrapbook Layout

For every scrapbook layout you make you likely have paper scraps leftover. Put those pieces to work for you and create a fun and creative background on your next scrapbook page. Lisa Dorsey, in the May/June 2013 issue, used a variety of bright colors and patterns to create a celebratory design on her layout showcasing her husband's super hero qualities.

How to create this look:

  1. Adhere patterned paper section and strips to cardstock.
  2. Add photos.
  3. Draw line around word bubble and star; adhere to layout using dimensional adhesive.
  4. Add decorative tape and journaling.
  5. Add title and draw small stars.

Plan Ahead

Save your paper strips and organize them by color so they'll be ready for projects like this.
