Photo-Editing Software Guide

by Lara Penrod

With the abundance of photo-editing software available, how do you know what to choose?

First, consider your skill level - a Beginner is just starting to learn how to edit photos, while an Intermediate user is comfortable with basic tools and is ready to stretch just a little more. Advanced users are often looking for fine-tuning filters, custom actions, and other specific tools.  Other factors to consider include the price point (free to $$$), computer compatibility (not all applications run well on all machines), and the functionality that you want (ranging from making minor edits to completely transforming your photos).

This free Photo Editing Software Guide compares some commonly-used applications - if you're considering an application not on this list, you can use this guide as a model to help you determine the type of information you should be looking for before making a purchase.
