Not only is the apple a common symbol of education, it's also a very cute shape that looks great on school-themed layouts. Make your own apple embellishment by following these simple steps.

1. Tear page from old thesaurus with the word "learn" on it. Cut apple shape from page.

2. Paint apple using acrylic paints, leaving words like "learner" and "student" unpainted as highlights.

3. Outline and draw details on the painted apple with a black pen.

cute idea but is it practical?
I'm wondering how practical this is, considering most of our pages are in page protectors. How would one read this cool little mini-album when it's behind a page protector?
