Wanted: Your Pages

We want to see your never-before-published best pages for publication consideration in upcoming issues. There are two current needs for the

Would you like to submit a layout for the "Becky's Sketch" column in Creating Keepsakes? You can! Becky Higgins designs a thumbnail sketch and creates a layout based on it. Several other scrapbookers follow the same format and create a layout with their own theme, pictures and journaling.

Here’s how you can be involved:
1. Using the sketch pictured here, create a well-executed, memorable layout to submit to CK. Please note:  You aren’t required to use seasonal pictures, but they are a plus.

Use solid-colored cardstock, patterned paper, textured paper or digital supplies—whatever works best for your layout. Choose the page size (8 1/2" x 11" or 12" x 12") you prefer. You can scrapbook black-and-white or color photos—it doesn't matter. You can also submit single-page layouts , cards and home décor items inspired by one or both sides of the sketch.

3. When your layout is complete, e-mail an electronic version to editorial@creatingkeepsakes.com This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Be sure to include "Becky's Sketch" in your subject line. Note: Attached files MUST be less than 300K. Include a supplies list for the layout as well.

If your layout is selected, we will contact you with contract and payment details. Let’s see what you can do!

In order to maintain fresh content in our magazine, we ask that you please submit layouts that have not been posted in online galleries or personal blogs that are available to the general public. Thank you.

Just as you’re planning your spring wardrobe, we’re already planning our issues for sweater weather. And we want our October 2009 issue to feature your amazing pages! Yep, we’re planning a special section in this issue to showcase stellar, knock-your-socks-off pages. Do you have a layout (or six or more) that fits this description? Do you know of another scrapbooker whose scrapbook designs fit this description? If so, we want to see them. From the stunning pages received, the CK editorial team will select an assortment to be featured in this special section.

This section will replace the usual spots we set aside for Hall of Fame and Scrapbooker of the Year contest winners, since these contests are on hiatus this year. But we didn’t want that to stop us from finding and showcasing fresh talent and amazing pages. Don’t let it stop you from submitting either.

Here’s how:

1. Submit as many times as you wish from now until May 10, 2009.

2. Please send up to two images (not to exceed 500 KB) of never-before-seen amazing scrapbook pages per email message to AmazingPages@CreatingKeepsakes.com.

3. Put “Amazing Pages” in the subject line.

We look forward to seeing your amazing pages!
