3. Ten (10) finalists will be selected based on the entries submitted in Rule 2. Finalists will be notified on or about 7/31/06. Finalists will also receive an all-expenses paid trip to the Memory Trends trade show which will be held in Las Vegas, NV October 10-12, where the winner will be announced an exclusive celebration.

To be eligible for consideration for the grand prize, the 10 finalists will be required to participate in a personal telephone interview and to submit a scrapbooking resume. This resume should include any experiences the finalist has had in the scrapbooking industry, including, but not limited to published works, design teams, length of time scrapbooking, teaching experience, and other skills and strengths the designer may have. 4. Entries must be the sole work of a single entrant.

5. Creating Keepsakes will select winners based on the following criteria:
(Round 1)

  • Does the designer create a unified look within each individual page?
  • Does the designer have a clear, distinct style?
  • Does the designer present innovative principles, approaches or techniques?
  • Does the designer express herself well on the essay portion of the entry?
  • Does the designer provide interesting and memorable information in the essay portion of the entry?

  • Are the ideas the designer expresses in the interview viable in the scrapbooking industry?
  • Does the designer exhibit and instill in others an enthusiasm for scrapbooking?
  • Does the designer understand and know how to solve the challenges of typical scrapbookers?

If the judging results in a tie, the entries that are tied will be re-judged based on the factors listed above, but the first factor will be counted as most important, the second factor as second most important and so on. If the re-judging still does not break the tie, all of the tied entries will be treated the same by Creating Keepsakes and will either all be published or all be rejected.

The contest will take place under the supervision of Creating Keepsakes magazine. Participants agree to be bound by these rules and the decision of the judges, whose decisions are final. The winner will be publically announced on or about 10/15/06.
