BE SENTIMENTAL. With Mother's Day and Memorial Day among its numbers, May is always a thoughtful month for me. It makes me want to stop and take note of relationships past and present, and it inspires me to focus on the relationships I want in the future.

This month's layout from my Month-by-Month Scrapbooking book features a single picture of my mom and me. Since we live in different states, we don't see each other as often as we'd like. That's why it's important to me to make sure to document the time we are able to spend together. The key word here is "together." Too often, my pictures during my mom's visits are of only her and my boys. I don't get in the picture. I'll do better!

Here are three more ideas to consider this May:

1. Count your blessings. It may not be November with Thanksgiving approaching, but that doesn't mean you can't make a list of the blessings in your life. Especially with Memorial Day this month, stop and consider the people still in your life . . . or why not list things gained through knowing loved ones you've lost?
2. Make May flowers. While I don't personally have any May Day stories, I know that many do celebrate with shared flowers. Even if you don't share, though, enjoy some flowers this month. If you're feeling adventurous, make your own using buttons or ribbon or felt or whatever else you have on hand.
3. Write a letter. Send a note to a special person in your life-tell them how they've made a difference. Another idea is to write a letter to a loved one who has died, just chatting about things you wish you could share today.

what a great challenge!

I am new to scrapbooking and although i love, i meant LOVE some of the great LO's that I've seen. I am glad to see that this is a bit more easier to do! Definately something I am eager to try! Keep On Creating!
