#3: Announce Home News

Whether you've recently called a new place "home" or you know someone else who has, a house is a great inspiration item.

We've Moved by Megan Hoeppner. Supplies Cardstock: Die Cuts With a View; Patterned paper and stickers: American Crafts; Brads: Adornit-Carolee's Creations and Bo-Bunny Press; Fabric: BasicGrey; Craft knife and punches: Fiskars Americas; Pens: EK Success; Adhesive: Glue Arts.

Here's how I put together this whimsical dwelling:

1. Make 5" x 5" card base from cardstock and use a square punch to create upstairs windows.

2. Trim and stitch bit of fabric to make curtains.

3. Trim roof from patterned paper, round the top corners and adhere.

4. Attach brad and adhere cardstock door.

5. Cut window with craft knife.

6. Outline window with a pen, affix stickers and attach brads.

Variation idea: Make a house card to welcome someone to the neighborhood or to congratulate someone on purchasing a new home.

Bonus Idea: If you need to update a lengthy list of contacts about your change of address, consider a photo postcard instead. It's a fast, yet personal way to spread the news. Photo postcard paper is available from Canon.

Pen Cups

I got that cute pen-cup shelf from Pottery Barn several years ago. I'm not sure if they still sell it or not. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and be sure to let you know if I happen upon anything similar downt the road. Thanks for the comments, all. Looks like fun!

I have four boys and I've taken a picutre of each of them in a hooded towel around 6 months or so. They are in blk&wht, so I'll give it a go! Can't wait!

Pen cups

I love the pictures too, but what caught my eye in the last photo was the cute shelf with glass cups that hold your pens and scissors.. Where did you get those? They look awesome for any scrap room!

Cork rounds

The cork rounds are for setting planters on (or hot cooking pots) so try a garden section at a home improvement store, or maybe walmart/target in the kitchen stuff area?

Any other place than Ikea for the cork???

Oh my, I LOVE the fabric memo board idea. I run a girls club and we are going on a day camp in September and I am thinking of really doing this craft with them. I have to find the cork though and the nearest Ikea is a whole hour away. Anbody know another store that might carry these round corks?

I just LOVE how the pink pops against the neutral beige wall. I'd like to know if the white swirls are from a rub-on sheet, stamped, or hand painted? What a nice touch of accent. :)
