Translucent text adds a bit of flair to any layout. I often use it on my pages to help point the emphasis to key words. Oftentimes when we look at a scrapbook layout (or at any other design for that matter), our eye sees larger or more saturated pieces first. Using translucent text helps tell your message without overpowering the other elements on your page.

We all have those days that seem as though the storm clouds are never going to part. Then something reminds us that they will. My daughter, Rowen, often gives me that inspiration. When I took this photo of her, I saw how she took on the adventure of mastering the new balance beam in our backyard without fear or hesitation. I wanted to place my text on the photo without overpowering the image, so I made some of the text translucent and left a few key words at full saturation so they stand out on the layout.
