Scrapbooking Technique: Using a Paper Doily as a Stitching Template |
Accent your scrapbook layouts using supplies from your kitchen cabinets or that call out to you from the baking aisle at the grocery store, like large paper doilies. Doilies lend themselves well to scrapbooking because you can use one to quickly add a feminine touch to a layout without adding bulk.

Now, we're going to show you how to use this lacy kitchen supply in a whole new way—as a template for stitching. Try this fun technique to create a cool background on your layout, as Stacy Cohen did.

1. Place doily on top of paper. Pierce holes around the outside of the doily and through parts of the doily pattern using paper piercer or needle.
