Log Cabin Pattern
The Log Cabin quilt pattern, as seen on Susan Weinroth's layout, represents a log cabin, with the outer strips symbolizing the cabin walls and the center block serving as teh hearth of the home. That connection to family and home makes this particular quilt pattern perfect for scrapbooking.
Double Wedding Ring Pattern
There are many romantic myths about the origin of this beautiful pattern, making it perfect for the background of romantic layouts. Place your pieced half ring over your pieced full ring to create this fantastic look.

Grandmother's Flower Garden Pattern
As this pattern's cheerful name suggests, the piecing of multiple patterns into the hexagon shape creates a fun flower-inspired background. Start in the center, and work your way out in rings, switching patterns and colors as you go.
Mariner's Compass Pattern
Feeling adventurous? This complex pattern is well worth the extra time it may take you, and is perfect for any special layout you want to infuse with a sense of homecoming. Cut the pattern using three or four different patterned paper designs or fabric, cutting File 2 twice with two different paper patterns. Then layer the designs on your scrapbook page, starting with the outer circle (File 1) and ending with the final starburst (File 3) on top.
