Dear Lizzy: Die Cutting in Style |

Q: I currently own four different die-cutting systems and am not buying any more until someone comes out with an affordable home solution for die-cutting chipboard. I heard Boss Kut was coming out with something. Have you heard any buzz on this? Julianne Meisen, Covina, CA
A: Boss Kut did come out with a machine at CHA called the Gazelle, and it will cut through lightweight chipboard. A few more machines that can also cut through chipboard are the Sizzix, Cricut Expression, QuicKutz Silhouette and Spellbinders Wizard.
I love die-cutting machines' ability to cut through different sorts of material, adding texture and dimension to any project. For the front of this mini album, I used my Sizzix to cut felt and chipboard into a bird, swirl and branch with flowers. (I used the "Bird w/Leaves & Flower" die.) If you are uncertain about what your machine can cut, always check your instruction manual or contact the manufacturer first to avoid mishaps.
