Make cute school-themed accents for your scrapbook layouts about the students, classmates, and teachers in your life.

The 2nd Grade Apple Project by Mou Saha, as seen in the September 2010 issue of Creating Keepsakes.
"Aa" Is for Apple.
Not only is the apple a common symbol of education, it's also a very cute shape that looks great on school-themed layouts. Make your own apple embellishment by following these simple steps.

1. Tear page from old thesaurus with the word "learn" on it. Cut apple shape from page.

2. Paint apple using acrylic paints, leaving words like "learner" and "student" unpainted as highlights.

3. Outline and draw details on the painted apple with a black pen.
