Becky's Sketch December 2009 |
A Springboard for Creativity

Sketches for scrapbooking are a tool, a springboard for creativity, a solution and a helping hand when you're not sure where to start a layout. (We all know that feeling!) During the holidays, having that helping hand is especially important. That's why I'm pleased to share this sketch and two holiday layouts with you. Consider them a holiday gift to you to accomplish more scrapbooking this winter!

Christmas of '08 by Becky Higgins. Supplies Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper; Patterned paper: Karen Foster Design; Rub-on letters: American Crafts; Chipboard "c" letter: Heidi Swapp for Advantus; Frames: Stacked Photo Clusters by Katie Pertiet; Photo-corner punch: EK Success; Ink: ColorBox, Clearsnap; Fonts: CK Becky and Gill Sans; Adhesive: Easy-Stick Double Stick Adhesive, Duck Products.
Design Tip: By incorporating photo corners on the main cluster of photos, I enhanced the look of cohesiveness. Also notice how I incorporated our family's Christmas card into the design on the right side of the layout.

End of 2008 Holidays by Becky Higgins. Supplies Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper; Punches: EK Success; Fonts: CK Becky (title) and Gill Sans; Adhesive: Easy-Stick Double Stick Adhesive, Duck Products.
Photo Tip: If you follow my column, you know this is another summary type of layout that I love to do. All of the fall-going-into-winter holidays are summed up in one layout for the album of my daughter, Claire. I labeled each grouping of two pictures for the sake of clarity and organization.
